In the spring of 2009, God stirred the hearts of two families to start a Bible Study in their homes in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.  This Bible study was led by church planter Randy Proctor.   After God ordaining a meeting in OKC, Jarrod and Sara James came to Sallisaw to meet the families that were having Bible Studies in Sallisaw.  After we all shared our vision and what God had laid on each of our hearts, God confirmed in all of us a desire to plant a church…a church that believed in and taught the Doctrines of Grace, where the Word of God would be proclaimed as the supreme authority in all matters of church life, and a church where God would be glorified.  

You see… just a few years before we all met, God was calling and preparing Jarrod to become a church planter.  After seeking God’s will in their own lives, Jarrod and Sara came in contact, by God’s providence, with Randy Proctor at a Church Planting training event in Oklahoma City.  After visiting with Randy, he invited the James’ to come to Sallisaw to meet the families in his Bible Study, and asked Jarrod to preach for them.  Little did they all know that God was gathering His flock to birth a new work, what we now call Grace Church.

After Jarrod and Sara visited Sallisaw, they knew almost instantly that God’s hand was orchestrating this church plant.  So, in May of 2009 Jarrod began to preach at Grace Church each week in a local office building on the west side of Sallisaw.  In July, Jarrod, Sara, and their son Kieran. moved to Sallisaw to plant Grace Church.  Since that time, God has continued to bless, provide for, and add people to Grace Church.  Today, we are still in awe of what God is accomplishing here, and we greatly anticipate what God will do in the lives of people as we proclaim the powerful gospel of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
